Sorry if I did this wrong, but I am trying to figure out what would be the best amp for competition. Two Kicker cvx 15's rated at 1000 watt rms, 2000 max. I had a Hyphonics Brutus 2608D but it just quit on me. with that set up i hit a 145.1 on the meter, tryin for more.

And Ideas, thanks!

Did the amp smoke?  Does it still light up?  Is there an AGU type fuse anywhere between the amp and the battery?

As far as an amp for competition, we typically go over the RMS rating of our subs, if not WAY over...thues why things get destroyed quite often.
What impedance CVX's do you have?   That would help with making a amp desicsion.

There was no smoke from the amp, atleast not that I saw.....

And there is no fuse that runs from the wire out of the batt to the amp. they are b4!

I was in the car checking everything out. I hooked up a single cvr at 1 and 4 ohm out of a box to see what it does. Well when I turned the volume up a lil it started to act like its supposed to but then it started making a popping noise threw the sub. I unhooked the sub and then I herd a noise comming from the amp when I placed my ear to it, almost a clicking noise. It wasnt constent or anything just random. Like I said earlier everylight on the amp is illuminated like it should be even the green go light. Protect light off!

The amp that I have hooked up to my highs seems to be working just fine. It plays well and everything, but of course it draws alot less current than the brutus....but Imma try to explain my whole set up agian, here goes.

Under the hood there is my main battery, 4guage wire to a 60 amp fuse, then 4 guage running threw the car to a 150A ANL fuse then 4guage to the positive of battery three and then 5 guage running back to the positive of battery two. I have my 4 guage ground going to battery two and then 5 guage running to battery 3.  (the teminal post run -/+  -/+) for the back two batteries. Now from the middle pos and neg I have 4 guage running straight to the pos and neg of amp.

If the 60 amp fuse is an AGU type fuse, replace it.
