1996 Honda Civic. Cant find a 12v constant wire. Tied it in with the remote 12v wire and everything powers up fine and all settings are maintained when radio is shut down. There is no parasitic draw on the battery while car is off. Are there any other problems or drawbacks that I should be aware of with this type of wireing or can I simply run a wire from the battery to the radio? Thanks for your help.

Yes you can run a fused wire to the battery! Of course if the radio is maintaining it's settings when you switch off then that wire you tied into is constant! The constant wire at the ignition harness will be white under the dash!

Yea, A common problem that I've seen in 6th gen civics is the fuse for the ignition wire goin to the Deck. Check your fuses before you do anything else. lol.
I also had a problem with the constant 12 in My civic, So I just ran 8 gauge FUSED wire straight to the battery. Works fine.

I had a case where all the fuses checked out with the dmm. So I just went to the ign. harness to grab my constant power. It should be a fairly thick white wire
