downfiring ported subs

01 ford ranger ext cab
rf amp: 1500 rms (1 ohm)
2 10 alpine type x
2F cap
im taking out the jumper seats to add more room..want to downfiring subs in 2 different custom boxes (1.3 cu ft each)..probably have 3inches between sub and floor..want to go ported..should i have the ports downfiring as well?..or have the port facing in different direction?

Do not, Do not port your box. you do not have enough airspace under your seats. build a sealed enclosure and be prepared to stuff the box with fiber fill

With three inches of space between the box and floor, yes, you should be able to port on the same baffle as the driver.
Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

I'm running a down firing sealed box in my Ranger excab. I plan to build a ported box for it soon with the port firing down too. I have 1 /12inch sub but it fills the truck with sound. It will be 3 db louder ported at 30 hz. If I don't like it ported I'll put it back in my sealed box
