Hi I been getting to get my truck together but would like to make sure that what I'm planning will be enough or is going to work plus a little intel on wiring with multi. batteries and amps. Okay I got a '98 Gmc ext. cab 150 alt. 0awg extreme deep cycle under hood--running 1 brutus 1600 with line driven pushing about 12 v in amp set at a 2ohm to 4 Re 10"s in ported boxes does 134.8db--I have not put everything toghter but have all but the box I'm making It is going to a wall with sealed enclosure w/just under a ft' of air space. Will have 2 brutus 1600 set to 2ohm to 8 re's  and 1 440 4 ch. Just got 3 new red top I need to know how to run these batteries and if what I'm talking about is underkill or over. I think I'll might need better alt. but just can't get fund for that just yet all this equip has taken me about 6-8 mnths to gather. Do u think if done right I might see 150db......

Thx to all will to help

No, but I think if done right your neighbors will rightfully shoot at you.

Yes for alt upgrade.

See previous thread about how to install multiple batteries and read them over and over again.

.

I know just enough to be dangerous. VERY dangerous.

if you are going for high spl then you should do a ported box tuned to the resonant frequency best for the subs and the vehicle.  i wouldnt run red tops, you need a deep cycle battery.  i would upgrade the alternator rather than all those batterys.

I'd argue low ESR batteries for SPL.
But if higher SPL results from higher system voltage (ie, 14.4V or higher versus 12.7 & below), then preferably copious alternator size (of engine running/charging) and/else 14V batteries (if the rules allow).
Deep cycle batteries if insufficient alternator or (lower ESR) battery capacity. (Remember - ESR increases as batteries discharge.)

Under the hood is usually for crankers rather than deep cycle.
And low-ESRs under the hood are compromised by the long cables to the amp etc (ie, may as well use high CCA wet cells).
And if you have the batteries you may as well use them.
Usually they are as close to the amps as possible to avoid sags, but SPL may be different - ie, caps suppress spikes hence lowering peak power, and a battery is like a big cap.
But those experienced with SPL will have to advice on that stuff....
