It's been quite awhile since I last posted, but I'm a little perplexed concerning something I would imagine to be pretty straight forward.
A friend of the family owns a 1999 Cadillac Sedan Deville that came factory with a basic Cassette deck. He Came across an OEM CD/Cassette head unit out of another 1999 Deville for $20. Had it unlocked by the dealership, it powers up, but no audio. Almost as if an amp isn't being triggered. Any suggestions?
Both OEM headunits are on Bose, the cd/tape unit has RDS but that wouldn't have anything to do with playback. Is itas simple as moving a pin in the harness??
Anyone who can shed some light on this will be very appreaciated.
Thanks!

either the pin for the remote turn on is in a different spot on the harness or the amp fuse is blown.

The Cadillacs weren't designed to have the radio changed to anything different. The only thing you could do to them was to add the factory 12 disc CD changer to them in the trunk. The new tape/CD radio wouild also need the amp and all the wiring associated with it from the other car to make it work. This isn't exactly practicle. While both systems may be Bose, they aren't the same.
