I just installed a new kenwood unit into my 1995 Celica GT. I actually did it the right way this time and bought a harness, but once I installed it it turned on and played for about 10 minutes then when dead...then it turned back on and played for 5 minuites now it wont turn on at all. The CD eject button isnt even working so I assume its not getting any power. I checked all fuses and they are all good. I am guessing there is a short in the ground or the constant power wire? This is odd because all my connections were soldered well and taped.

If there is a short from the constant wire to ground, there is a blown fuse somewhere.  If the eject button no longer works, chances are it is missing constant power or ground. Do you have a volt meter to check to see which you are missing?

Yea, thats what I was thinking. I just wish it could have told me somthing was wrong before i put everything back together. I will check it with my volt meter tomorrow. I just thought it was odd since I never had a problem with my old radio.

I don't wanna bash Kenwood here, but it wouldn't be the first time I hear of a defective unit out of the box.
I Think the only quality control test they do is power on the unit for a minute. LOL
