Hi,
I tried to search for a similar topic but was a bit confused... Can anybody provide me with advice relating to my particular issue?
I installed a kicker amp and 12" sub today in my NA Fairlane - works very well for the price..... but one problem:
When I switch the car off the green light on the amp stays on. I initially wired the remote on the amp to the head units amp remote cable, and then the antenna - still would not go off. The strange thing is that the remote cable is recieving 12volt from the amp, not the other way around. I detached the remote cable, and switched the power on/off options to the two other than 12v - still not working.... The amp is brand new.
I had a hard time installing it - here is the configuration:
Kicker DX100.2 -
VDO head unit..
Kicker boxed sub - 12"
Wired the power cable from the battery, through the boot release hole in the firewall and through the drivers side floor to the boot. (inline fuse near battery)
Wired the speaker cables through the passenger side floor.
Wired the remote cable next to the speaker cable - didn't think such a small cable would have any effect one the speaker cables.
Mounted the earth cable to the inside of the boot - where the seats fold down (scraped off paint and tightened very tight with stainless steel bolt.
As I said it works well - enough bass, but annoying that the amp stays on.
Any suggestions? Internal remote switch defective? I am pretty new to amp installation, but did it well with the battery disconnected, etc..

Some of these kicker amps have a switch on the side. One setting is the +12v, or "sensing".
the "sensing" setting makes the amp wait for AUDIO signal from the RCA's. and waits 2-minutes AFTER there is no signal from the RCA's to turn off.

Yeah it does - I tried 12v with the remote cable attached, and then the others with the cable detached. Didn't switch off.
