Ok so i have around $500 to spend on a system, i wld like to spend $400 but will go a little higher. So i have been looking at rockford fosgate and alpine subs mostly. I was looking at getting 2 10's or 1 12. I looked at getting 2 10in p2's in a ported box (should i do sealed?) or a 12inch p3, or a 12in type r. I was also looking at planet audio amps. I have no clue what amps to look at or what to stay away from. And should i go with a ported or sealed box. i am a sound quality type of guy. My current setup is an oldmobile intrigue w/ memphis components in the front, memphis 3-way 6x9's, and a pioneer 3200ub deck. If anyone has some suggestions for me on what to get it would be very helpful. Thank you!!!!

where have you been looking to buy these products?? If i had to guess from the products you listed i would say best buy, but if you want to get a little more bang for your buck and have a much larger selection of products go online to .....com i prefer 10 inch subs over any other because i like tight responsive bass and because of that i would also suggest a sealed enclosure. ive been satisfied with almost every type of sub i have owned from infinity, eclipse, re, memphis, and kicker, i have a 500 watt rms alpine amp that has pushed every sub or pair of subs that i have thrown at it very nicely, hope this helps
mustang GT convertible with lots of performance mods... Alpine M500 amp with sealed enclosure, 10 inch kappa perfect, clarion cz500 head unit, kicker ks speakers all around

My current setup as far as bass goes is a JL Audio 10w3v3 with a alpine mrp-m500, great tiny little setup and the sub is in a ported (w/slot) box, runs around $300-$400, you get your money's worth, as far as amps go if you want just one sub go with "monoblock amps" only and choose between alpine, kicker, and JL. As far as subs go, JL Audio is your first choice, MTX and then Alpine
