I just purchased a Pioneer P4400BH DVD reciever and am having a problem with the parking brake connection. Usually I can figure these things out but I'm not having any luck. The unit requires the parking brake wire to be connected to the positive side of the parking brake switch. The problem is I have a 2004 Nissan Frontier with a pedal parking brake and there is only one wire (ground) at the switch.

I tried a relay  with the remote wire to power it but realize that is only providing a ground for the parking brake wire.

I don't want to watch DVDs while driving so safety isn't an issue. I just want to use the auto EQ andf that requires the parking brake wire to be working.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

All parking brakes are ground.  Connect the green wire to the lone wire of your parking brake.

The parking brake wire on the head unit has to be on the positive side of the switch so it can sense current. It doesn't work on the ground side.

Connect the green parking brake wire of the deck to the lone wire of your parking brake switch.

I figured it out. The auto eq function didn't work because you have to turn off the source and that turns off the relay. Thanks for the replies.
