Hi just installed a new Power Acoustik PD-718NB touch screen din with double din face on a 2001 Dodge Ram with Pac IR steering wheel interface.
Everything works fine until the unit is switched off. When turned on,the volume automatically jumps to 12 even if it is turned down to Zero before switching off.
Could it just be a defective head unit or a setting.
Thanks
DYohn

Check your owner's manual for a power-on default volume setting.

Set the volume to whatever level you want it to come on at.  Then press and hold the volume knob for 5 sieconds.

This is how it is done on many of the units of that caliber.
