Hi Guys, putting together a small system for my son's 1998 Integra using some old equipment I had laying around. The basics are a newer low end Pioneer head unit with Bluetooth, an old school Alpine MRV-F302 4 channel amp, a pair of Alpine SPS-1729S 6.5 coaxial's in the front doors with the factory tweeters still connected, and a pair of cheap Sony Xplode XS-L101P5W 10" subs(the "W" stands for Wal-mart!). I will let the head unit run the factory rear speakers for now. The amp will run both the front speakers and the sub(s). The amp when bridged onto a sub does (at 14.4 volts) 100 watts at 8 ohms and 120 watts at 4 ohms. I have about 1.8 cuft (external dimensions) I can give up in the hatch area. That is enough for a single woofer ported (120 watts) or a pair sealed (series wired, 100 watts at 8 ohm). What do you guys recommend I do? I know I get more efficiency from 2 drivers coupled together but Winisd shows a single ported having 6db more output (between 30-40hz) than a single sealed box. If it makes a difference my son does not listen to normal pop, bass music much. Right now he is in a phase of listening to things like Dream Theatre, Queensrych and Judas Priest. The closest to pop he likes would be Daft Punk. Thanks for your help in advance.
