Hi guys,
Everyone has been so helpful on this forum i thought i would come here as a last resort for my beloved Alpine CDA-9847 Circa 2005.
I was having a power issue in the install vehicle...every once in a while it would randomly power off...sometimes it would turn back on with no preset radio stations.
I took the unit out and removed the alpine side harness...noticed that the connector on the head unit, its holes were a little small for the pins on the unit...so i took a small punch and reamed the holes out a few milimeters and re-secured the harness back to the unit.
It felt much more secure and a more positive connection.
Putting it back in the truck everything was just fine except when it started up i could not get the CD to EJECT.
What i should've done was eject the CD before i removed it, hindsight is always 20/20 but i dont know for sure if that would've made a difference.
Long story short, something came loose when I removed it...or got stuck.
No parts are clinking around in the unit...i removed the top metal cover and inspected everything here are the pictures.
Please tell me if anything doesnt look right...for instance i have circled in red a plastic arm which i believe may need to be pushed beneath this metal bracket so that when a cd is inserted the metal bracket moves with the arm.
I found absolutely NO pictures of alpine unit tear downs of this generation CDA-9847,9857,9843 etc.
Please help if you have ever had a model like this refuse to eject...everything else is in perfect condition...I really want to keep this radio, but i cant if the CD player wont work its my main mode of tunes....i have an aux jack that i've hooked up to the "Ipod connnector" but you dont have complete control over tracks with the unit controls like you do with CD"s
thanks for looking,

In my experience "refusing to eject" is normally due to a mechanical misalignment and the CD disk catches on the upper edge of the slot. This cannot be easily solved as the misalignment is due to wear on certain bearings, but the deck can still be used by inserting a thin plastic card like an insurance ID into the slot giving the disk something to glide along, keeping it from catching the upper edge of the slot. This may or may not be the case with your deck.
