I was playing around with my stock bose stereo the other day in my 05 check silverado and noticed something but I don't know if it is wrong.
There is a line out converter in the center console connected to the factory wires, then the rca's go out to an aftermarket amp and sub.
When I turn the balance on the stock head unit to the left side speakers or leave the balance in the middle, the subwoofer works. However when I turn the balance to the right, no sound comes from the subwoofer. Sound still comes out of the right side speakers but nothing out of the sub.
Should this be happening? Is something wired incorrectly at the loc?

Somebody connected both channels of your line out converter to 1 channel of the factory sub. Not going to say that you will even notice a difference if you connect it correctly.

Ok, didn't know if it would make a difference if I wire it to both sides instead of just one?

You would certainly eliminate the issue if the balance control affecting the bass, and you may achieve a stronger signal to the subwoofer amplifier depending on how the LOC is designed.
