I have a 2013 Honda Pilot EX-L w/ Navigation and 7-speaker system.
I want to keep the factory components and put an AudioControl LC7i after the factory amp, then out of the LC7i to an aftermarket 4-channel amp, then out of that amp to my upgraded speakers.
Despite watching many YT videos of installs that integrate with factory amps, I'm scratching my head on how to accomplish the wiring of this. I have a wiring diagram for the factory amp so I know which wires go to which speakers. But where I'm lost is how to connect from the factory amp to the LC7i - do I need to actually cut the wires coming out of the factory amp to connect to them? Everything I've done so far to upgrade my audio is reversible to get it back to factory, if needed. It seems that wouldn't be the case if I have to cut the wires coming out of the factory amp.
And finally, how about for the output from the aftermarket amp back to the speakers? If the answer to the above question is "yes, you need to cut the wires," then that answers this 2nd question as well. But, is this the only way?
I appreciate any guidance. This isn't my first rodeo of car audio install, but it IS my first rodeo with a factory amp involved.

You do need to cut the wires.
