i want to buy two oh the eclipse subs i have a box but i want to know if i will need to make/buy another. the box i have is kinda junk but it is a 1.0cuft box. would it suffice or will if fall apart under pressure and should i build a custom box to about 1.25 or so? also does somebody else have a better suggestion?

You said yourself that the box is junk, so I would build a new one. As you know the output of these subs, they will pressurize a box like no other. As far as 1.25 vs. 1.0 cubic feet, I really couldn't tell ya. I think bberman1 usually suggests 1 cubic foot, but I think Eclipse suggests a slightly bigger box. Good luck.

I agree. Why spend the $'s for high quality subs then go cheap on the enclosure. I think I remember Bberman1 recommending 1.0 as well.

you will be fine running those subs anywhere between 0.9-1.3cu feet. I have the model down from those and run them in a 1.1cu foot box. But also mine are 10's. Deepending on the sound you want i would say 1.25 would be better for overall performance.

If you up the power to the sub as well then the answer is yes.

well i can have a rms of 500 or 750 so what you all think? and isnt it less power the larger the enclosure?  also should i use 3/4 mdf or double up on 1/2 mdf?

Very true... my mistake there. That should be pleanty of power for that sub. If you want to be safe you can double up but i would go just for the 3/4 be warry it does flex quite a bit!!
