hey everyone! two quick questions!
1. is it okay to mount a amp on top of the sub's box? will the vibrations kill the amp? also do you just screw into the box?
2. is the picture below the best way to wire a JL10W6 sub to a 300 watt jbl amp (300.1)? if i am correct i'll be running at 1.5 ohms rite?

As to your first question, no, it is not a good idea to mount the sub amp to the enclosure, unless you have built the enclosure with specific internal bracing to support the amp.  The vinrations and flexing of an enclosure will eventually destroy an amp.

If you wire you're sub as shown in the picture, you'll be wiring it at 3 ohms, just like it says in the picture because you are wiring a dual 6 ohm sub in parallel.

OH NO.. someone told me i would be wiring at 1.5 ohms but it makes more sense if it was 3 ohm because it is a dual 6ohm. i was hoping to get 300 watts from my amp at 1.5 ohms. it's rated 300 at 2ohms, 150 at 4 ohms, will i be getting around 200 watts at 3 ohms? will that be enough watts to power my 10W6?

Actually it is Ok to mount the amp onto the box, most amplifiers have circuit boards that have alot of circuitry "burned into the boards", non servicable and highly predictable parts in this case, all other parts are secured to the heatsink or boards quite secure. Now for some of you who don't like this method, in a vehicle that can make a coin jump off of the roof, do you think that the vibrations are only in the box or are they also in the cabin (the shockwave from the sub). If you can feel the output of the sub in your chest, do you think that it does not affect the amp as well, or what about road vibration... I have never ever seen a failure on an amp due to mounting an amp on a box. An amplifier that is made out of aluminum (in most cases) is certainly way stronger than mdf. Any enclosure should be built with adequate bracinbg to minimize flexing and vibrations.

You should be Ok with amp to power the sub, it is not a perfect match but it will get the job done for you.

Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.
