amp position question

i have two solo-baric L7's dual 2 ohm, which are going to be powered by one Rockford Fosgate 1501bd. i was wondering where should my amp be placed for best results in every thing. thnx

haha, i am only 16 years old, and i have been saving up my money. i have been working two jobs just so i can get this system. my car is a 1993 Buick Century. would it hurt that amp if it was placed on the side of my box vertically?

I would say to use the amp as a wing/spoiler for adequate cooling. But seriously, it will work pretty much anywhere as long as it isn't upside down, and for best cooling have it mounted as far away as vertical as possible(flat on the floor).Certified Security Specialist

o ok, i was given some false information then. that is what i will prolly end up doing, mounting it flat on the floor. while i am at it, i have one more question, since my amp is pretty big (Rockford Fosgate 1501bd), will that run pretty hard on my battery?

That would be a yes to that question. I don't imagine you bought that small of an amp so that you don't want to let everyone else HEAR IT! Please remember that as you are just getting started in this, it is so easy to cause permanent hearing damage, you will never recover from this. Play your music sensibly. Maybe if that amp was a wing it would create more downforce.... I have also posted about proper grounding, make sure you have a good ground, measure the resistance on the ground return, it should be below .5ohm of resistance or expect problems. A good install shop when asked to check for this (most shops and installers don't) will be able to get that ground return to a low resistance.Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.
