Ok, i hate to ask this question cause it shows how much i dont know about car audio. I had 2 6x9 audiobahn ABF29T put into my 2000 expedition. The only thing that is powering these is a cheap JVC 50x4 cd player. They dont sound good at all. When i turn the bass up at all on my cd player it sounds like im pushing way to many watts to them. But they are 150W RMS. Anyone have any ideas what i can do to fix this?

What's happening is clipping. The speakers are not getting enough power going to them. Chances are the RMS for those 6 x 9's are more than what the CD player puts out. If you want them to sound good, you have to go with an amplifer matched to the RMS of the speakers.
