Mustang Engine Noise?

Hello,

I tried putting my LCD unit with Radio in my car and I had massive Engine noise and a hissing noise when just turning on the radio, and when I first power the radio I get a HUGE click sounds.  I have a 2000 Mustang with Mach Audio.  I Took it in to be "preofessionally" done and it does the same thing.

Any IDEAS?

if u took it to a shop and had their installers do it and u have the same problem, bring it back and make them fix it.  u paid for a job that needs to be done right

The Mach system in 2000 has a very low level differential audio circuit between the radio and amp. If the speaker leads were hooked up directly, it will cause the problems you describe. The click sound is caused by the mis-match in audio between the new radio and the factory amp. In addition, the amp turn-on lead also functions as a clip detect circuit and as you increase the volumn on the factory system the voltage level on the turn on lead increases (starts at around 5 volts). You have to install a 570 ohm resistor in the turn on lead from the new radio to keep the current and voltage down where it should be or you will definitely have a poor performing system. You will also need a radio replacement interface between the speaker level output of the new radio and the factory amps.
