i burnt out my deck a few weeks back and a friend of mines gave me an old deck he pulled out of a car at his wrecking yard...Eclipse 5331...also gave me a Kenwood KGC-4042A eq. first question...does this deck run off of an amp or is there already a preamp...he told me theres a preamp but i dont see anything stating that. second...how should i hook up the EQ? thanks.

The Eq can only be used if you are running your speakers off a seperate amp. If you are then you run the front preouts on the eclipse to the inputs on the eq, there is only one set, then you run rca's from the eq to the amp in the back. Put Power, Ground, Ignition to the Eq and you are done. I have one of those eq's and have installed the damn thing in so many of my friends ash trays its rediculous
double-secret reverse-osmosis speaker-cone-induced high-level interference distortion, Its a killer

alright so theres 4 sets of rca's on the eq...im running from the deck to eq these 3 rca's : eq output - subwoofer, eq output - front, eq output - rear, and eq input to my amp...right? so lets say im running 2 seperate amps...one for subs...one for components...so the eq rca to sub and eq rca's to components CAN be ran through 2 seperate amps at the same time? thanks.
