What if I were to throw a  12" L7 into my box that my CVR 12" is in (cut the round hole into a swaure one) still run it at 400 rms at 4 ohms... would i notice a difference??

Yes.  You will probably notice a difference.  They are different woofers with different characteristics.  Having said that, will you like the difference?  Who knows - depends on what kind of sound you're going for, the application, your car, and the music.

Well 1st, you're talking about 2 very different subs so yes, you will notice a difference.  They require different amounts of space too.  If going sealed, the L7 needs .88-2.0 cuft. and the CVR needs 1.0-4.6cuft.  That's a pretty big difference in my book.  Also the CVR needs 400W RMS which apparently it's getting, while the L7 needs 750 W RMS to make it bounce.  You obviously have enough amp w/ the Punch to power the L7.  If you've ever listened to a L7 next to a CRV you wouldn't even be asking this question-the L7 is a SPL monster!
