Can you bridge a head unit the same as an amp?

Can you bridge a head unit the same way you bridge an amp? I have a pick-up truck that only has a pair of component speakers and was wondering if connecting the front and rear speaker wires would double the power.

no ... if it's a floating ground unit you'll blow the output stage by doing this....
