I am trying to hook up a sub and amp to a 97 ford explorer factory deck but every diagram I see does not have the right colors for the factory speaker wires how can I tell which wire is positive and ehat one is negative and can this be done in this car THANK YOU

More than likely, this is because you have a factory amp in the rear passenger quarter panel, in which the wires on the diagrahms are located. It isn't impossible to run a sub, but possibly more efficient to bring it to your local stereo shop to ensure proper installation.

I have had a 95 explorer, and now a 97, and Chad7n7 hit it directly on the money.
