I have been thinking about switching from my 2 12" punch hx2s for 4 JL 15w0s, would have gone for the 15w3v2s but dont think they are really in my price range (if anybody can get me a deal on them let me know).  I have a friend with 2 15w0s in a triple bandbass box, I dont really know what a triple bandbass is, I guess I dont really even know what a bandpass is if anybody could explain.  His hit really loud but I dont know what his sq is like, I want something that will really bang but at the same time I need some sq (HX2s havent really impressed me with their sq abilities).  First off I was wondering if anybody could give me an opinion of the comparison of sq between a w3 and w0, my brother has 12w3v2s and I love them but Im wondering how W0s compare.  Second I was wondering what you guys would recommend for a box as far as getting some insane spl while still keeping a nice broad frequency response, sealed, ported, or bandpass (whatever exactly this is lol).  Thanks a lot

wo's are the entry level jl sub. I would put them in a sealed box if i were you. band pass suck imo. they can hit hard, but don't sound very good.  they will not give you a "broad freq responce". see the woofer enclosures page on this web site.

I think the Alpine Type R subs are a good compromise between SPL and SQ. You can get the 12s for $99 to 110 online (no warranty though, sorry). How big of an amp do you have? I would give them 500 watts RMS with each of them in a 1.25 cf sealed enclosure.
