I have a 2001 Dodger ram quad cab,  It has a am/fm/cassette/cd player in the dash, with 3 bandEQ,  It has tweeters up in the pillars, speakers in the doors and 6.5"'s in the quad cab doors.  Im trying to find out if ithas an external amp,  and where is it located.  It dosent say infinity on the head unit,  but infinity is printed oon the back of the rear speaker magnets.  I just replaced the rears today and they sound terrible, so i want to figure out if there is an amp and where?

Thanks

I think there is an amp on each of the front door speakers.  They are 6x9's and the amp runs each door speaker and then to the rears.  You can replace them but you will also have to buy a new head unit and do some wiring.

That would probably make sense then,  Ill have to take the doors off sometime this week.  Just not ready to dump another 300 bucks right now, but what the heck.

Also check the passenger's kickpanel.
