Mike here again, For my 93 GMC full size 2500 Vandura van. I am interested in finding and installing an FM/Am cd/cd writable and cassette tape in dash player.

I am not sure but I think this stock radio is a 1.5 din ? And I found a couple units but they are double din ? My questions are which size is it ? And if it is a 1.5 din, or a double din - who makes a pretty good unit that plays both and maybe MP 3s too ? And any ideas on where I can get one at a good price ?

I am sorry to bother you guys with such basic questions, but my step brother had been in the stereo business back home in St Louis  all his and my life and therefore stereos were the one thing I never had to work on in my own vehicles. But he died at the age of 42 from a heart attack. So now I am having to start from no knowledge. thanks for the help guys - Mike

dual media units have kind of gone out of vogue.... they were only made for a few years.....  you can certainly find many ETR cassette/CD changer combo packages tho.......

BTW, my condolences on your bro.......

I agree, they were highly application specific.  It is a 1.5 din cutout in the dash so unless you are prepared to breakout the bondo and beer, find one of these application specific decks. Pioneer might have one but other than that you other option is the old tape deck and changer route or a cd player with aux input and plug in a walkman into it.
Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.
