This is more a curiousity than a question upon which a buying decision will swing ... but, does anyone have any listening time or opinions about this full range class D amplifier from Eclipse?
http://www.eclipse-web.com/amp/da6213.html
Rob, Haemphyst? anyone?
Any word on whether Eclipse or any other manufacturer other than Xtant is coming out with clean full range class-t, h, d, or other variant of high efficiency class amplifier?
I'll be playing with a pair of these:

over the weekend and let you know my impressions.

I have not even seen one yet... Being as it is (at least I think it still is...) B&O ICEpower I think you would be safe in expecting very good things from it. My local guy is supposed to have one in soon, and I am likely gonna be the guy to put it my car first... (Daddy needs a new mid-bass amp... BWAHAHAHA) I hope it lives up to the name of the other DA amps in the line...

Thanks for the reply. Any idea on pricing?
With the addition of my new Extremis drivers as midbass I'm working on installing in the doors, I'm interested in some nice clean + efficient headroom for an inefficient 8-ohm driver. :-)

No idea at this time. As I said, have not even seen one yet. I am planning on running *MY* Extremis as well... Wow. Two minds with but a single thought - "Midbass" LOL

After blowing up two of the new Xtant amps 3 times each by a pair of Eclipse 12" aluminums. I am currently working with a DA7232 and PA5422 in a system and have been totally impressed thus far. Any of the Premium amp series from Eclipse gets a NOD of approval from me.
Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

Hmm.. I don't like the sound of that. Good thing I'm a conservative s.o.b. with the volume knob and bass.... Either way, that DA6213 looks nice. I can always put the much more powerful DA6213 on the midbass and move those little Xtant's to the Quart components. (wheels in brain turning)

You asked about any other full range amps that are a different class besides a/b. Well Orion came out with a class t amp called a cobalt 250t about 4 1/2 years ago. It was really pricy when it came out but thats cause it was the new kid on the block. It sounded great but tagged at 800 bucks canadian for a 250 watt amp so I only sold a couple. Probally not in the same class as the eclipse you are looking at but at todays prices I am betting it is cheaper so its a trade of I guess

PATHOLOGIC DESCRIPTION: Patient shows little will to live, save for the advancement of 12 volt automotive gear, including but not limited to, vast expenditures of money for the pursuit of sonic nirvana, additional expenditures of time involving treatment of automotive environment in advance of sonic nirvana, and finally, loss of sleep for days on end, before, during and after the installation of equipment. Modification to patient's vehicle is common.

Well, I went to my local Eclipse dealer this afternoon, and I was really disappointed with the output power specs of that amp...
It is rated at 250WPC @ 4 ohms, and the Extremis is an 8 ohm driver, so I am not really sure I will get the desired output (specifically - headroom) with 125WPC... Steven? Input here? As it is right now, with my 84dB efficient Morels, with 185WPC driving them, I sometimes hear a little overdriving situation. Should I stick with the 185 watt analog amp, or step down to the 125 watt digital amp? What is the efficiency of the 6.8 again? If at least 87 to 88, I may still consider the purchase of the amp... (problem is, it won't fit in my system the way I might want... I'll have to look into that.)

I think it is 86db @ 1w1m.
You, with your fancy aftermarket alternator probably has no real reason to make this move to class d for midbass amplification. :-) Me, desparately trying to avoid upgrading my alternator, might be more suited for the class d.
It was toy day today when I got home.
Received my Kit61 crossover components and drivers AND my xtant 1.1s. The xtants are freaking tiny.
I took some time to look at the contents of my packages before I had to get back to work. *grumble*
Hopefully I'll have some time to test both and give my impressions this weekend.
