Ok, quick recap for those of you that don't know the current situation. Had a whole new system installed. Alpine IVAD-300 head unit, Diamond audio 600.4 for the inside speakers and a Diamond 1200.1 for my subs. I chose the Eclipse Aluminum 7104's as my sub which I quickly burnt up the voice coils on. Several reasons that could have happened, but thats not what this post is about. So since having my system installed I have had bass for about a week and no bass for about 3 weeks or more now. Woofersetc. and Eclipse was nice enough to repair my sub and will be getting it back shortly.

So here's the deal. Show season is right around the corner and I need to get my system nailed down and working properly. I am not sticking with the Eclipse subs just because I don't want to and they didn't pound like I wanted. More of an SQ woofer by far. I need more of an SQL setup. So I've been waiting for the new Brahma's to emerge and get me a set of 10's. I am on a waiting list with a near distributor. I spoke with them last week and have no word on when they will be available unfortunately.  So I'm looking at my options and was thinking if I can't wait it out how the RE SX would work for me. I only know one person that could tell me about the XXX series and they pounded something fierce. Got a video clip and was quite impressed. I do plan on getting Dual 4 Ohm which RE can do for a little extra $$$.  So they will be paralleled to 1 Ohm. Do I even have enough amp for the SX's? Don't want to under power, but don't want to push the envelope again like I did with the Eclipses. On the Adire site, the new Brahma's are rated at 600W RMS which would put me right where I should be with the Diamond amp. The enclosure for either sub will be a sealed application also. So open an honest opinions are more than welcome.  I'm getting kind of impatient waiting for some thump in the ride. I can't show without subs in my car either, that would just be wrong. Thanks in advance for all the help.

Whell the SX sub will be louder than the xxx and brahma because of its design characteristics, it dosn't have as much excursion as the xxx and brahma but it seems to be louder, its not as clean as the xxx or brahma.  I have heard the XXX, SX, and own a SE.  The SX is still above the quality of most major brands high end subs without the price tag.

thats interesting that the XXX is cleaner than the SX. I would think the opposite as the XXX is meant more for SPL applications. So whats your take on the SE's? i see in your sig that you had a 15" SE in your setup in a huge box. How much power were you pushing to it? As much as I'd like to say I'm an SQ guy, I want some loudness to it as well because of the heavier type music I listen to. My inside speakers scream, so i need a pair of subs that can match with them. I honestly want to make a right decision this time around so I don't have to go through re-sizing my box again and all that jazz. I want an evenly matched system all around. thanks again

I am considering the same sub as you are, And we were also running the eclipse 7104's untill they took a dump.   I will let you know after this weekend what I find, I am going to a large car show in the omaha area and expect to see the SX, XXX, Bramha, and maybe some more to decide between.      We love excelent sw, but want to be able to put the subs in a box to run at some SPL shows.    We have a little more power to play with (3) Kicker kx1200's      but I will still let you know my results

Very nice Jeff, I do appreciate that. Yes, you have a LOT more power than what I'm looking at. So you plan on running 1200 to each sub? I would have gotten those same Kicker amps if I'd seen them a week or two earlier before i got my Diamond ones. Keep me posted, someone that can listen to them side by side or one after the other is my best bet. You got me chompin at the bit here....thanks.

no prob, i should be able to get a reply out sunday night, the show is all day sunday.    One company that I want to look at that I was kinda shocked to hear was, atomic!    I am going to check out the atomic AP's I have heard them for SPL but some people are saying they can be used for street.    Not quite sure yet, I am personally leaning toward the RE SX series line, or If I can get a deal I might go adire tumult..But that all depends on the money I have to spend, I know where I can get 2 RE sx 12's right now so then I would only need to pick up one more later on.
The way I look at it, 3 12 inch RE Sx's each in thier own box, each with thier own amp, should be quite loud.
Right now we have ran the 2 eclipse 7104's off one kx1200 and hit 143.6db on the term lab, this is in a 98 civic coupe, a trunk is hard to work with when you try to get loud.
For now we have 2 10inch memphis m3's untill the eclipses come back they did 143.5db and hit a little lower then the eclipses, but not as clean and tight.
As far as the others I will let you know

Yes I did I was just about to send some replys out.
I was able to check out the SX subs in a sealed box very very nice sounding, was a little lacking my taste for
SPL but it was 2 12's in about 1cuft each sealed, so im sure it would be alot better ported and with more power then a single memphis 1000d could provide to both subs..I think the small box and 500approx to each sub was holding it bacvk.
I was able to see 2 older bramha 15's in a hatchback vehicle,    loud yes!   The box was quite large, about 3-3.5 cu ft per sub   each sub was powered by an American Bass amp not sure on the model.   This was deffintally not a street setup because it was very boomy but way loud!
My best impression was with a blazer running 2 treo 15inch SSX subs, massive box, massive treo amps and wow! It was hitting nearly 160db and it was half way clean for your avaerage bass head!   I also checked out the new CXT series subs they are offering and they are massive but meant for SPL only
I was able to look at atomic, and well I wasnt impressed with the music cababilitys not really up to my per with remaining clean and musical when hitting low notes.
ALMA GATES HAS AN AMAZING BRONCO!!!! Jbl did a great job, talk about giving you chills.   I vehicle that could hit over 160db and also play music so accuratlly it drivs people insane!
I was quite impressed with the top end orion subs they were very musicly tuned, and with 2 12's someone was able to pull off 149.5db with a single kicker kx1200
I will keep you posted on what I see next weekend in topeka should be another big show, I am schedualed to be at shows every weekend for awhile so I will keep things up to date.   If you have any specific questions for me or someone using a certian product I can try to help you out just send me a PM
