I am helping a friend install two 12 inch Rockford Punch subs, an alpine cd player, and an alpine amp in his 96 Ford Taurus. We have everything installed correctly, I think. We started up the car and the cd player works, the subs worked fine, but when we put a cd in the cd player, the subs power cut out. So I don't know what is wrong. Any ideas? Please help.

We had it hooked to amp blue-white first, but that didn't work, so we switched it to antenna blue and it worked. But I will go out and try switching them real quick to see if that changes it.

Today we had to run new wire to the back of the car to bypass the factory amplifier/tuner. This wire plugs into the antenna and the factory defrost plugs. Then we spliced all the wires from the new wires to their corresponding wires on the  headunit wiring harness. The blue power antenna wire is connected to the blue power antenna wire on the headunit harness. The blue-white amp turn on wire from the headunit is spliced to the wire from the amp that is connected to the Remote connectors. So as far as I  can see everything is connected correctly. But the subs dont work now that the amp is connected to the blue white amp wire and when they did, they didn't work when the cd player tried to play a cd. It worked with the radio. So I am confused.

it sounds like you might have a bad blue and white turn on wire is it a new deck if it is return it for a new one if it is out of warranty you could just hook up the switched power from the deck to the amp

The deck is a 2000 Alpine cd player. I think some of wires on the harness dont work but i used the switched ignition wire and it works now. So thanks for the help.
