I just got my first car.Its a 1998 Honda Civic Ex and the first thing im doing to its is putting a system in it.My dad gave me his Subs enclosed in the box. There two 12" baja's and I have a late model 500wat Bazooka amp and  new 600 wat pioneer amp and two 6 and a half inch polkaudio speakers in it right now. It's not kicking like I wanted it too.But it does sound good.I was wondering what I should get to make it have more bass.I was think bigger speakers?Like 15" or 18 " JL Audio. Not sure if 18's will fit in my trunk, is there a way to fit them if I decide to get them? Also how can I fix that rattling in my trunk?Should i use like a expanding foam? Thanks, David

You have a number of questions to adress here. But as far as bass goes, you are correct in that larger diameter drivers generally produce more volume, however properly matched 10"(s) or 12"(s) can be very loud. This can be acheived by using the proper enclosure (very crucial) and applying the proper power to them.
You don't necessarily need huge amounts of power to have loud bass. My guess is those subs aren't very good and probably need to be upgraded.
There are many ways to stop rattling, I suggest you do a search on this site for more info as there are many many threads that deal with issue.
