can anyone suggest a good set of speakers that have good midbass for me?  i'm having touble finding a set of speakers because the local shops seem to be pretty limited as to what they have on display.  so far i like the alpine 6" type x's.  can anyone suggest anything that would be a better choice perhaps??? thanks

For REALLY good midbass, you will likely never find anything in a pre-packaged setup... I have never found anything to quell MY desire for midbass in anything over-the-counter.
My suggestions follow:
The Morel 6
The Adire Extremis 6.8
The Tang-Band 7
...not necessarily in midbass capability order, but CERTAINLY in price order - Morels are SPENDY, and the Tang-Bands aren't quite so, with the Adire's running in the middle, at about $100.00 each (is that pretty close Steven?)
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

I will also add Image Dynamics IDQ to the list, as well as the 9" PG Titanium Elite. Surprisingly enough, the PPI DCX 6.5" and the PPI PC 6.5" aren't all that bad either.

i found this page about the adire audio extremis 6.8.

http://www.acoustic-visions.com/~acoustic/products/subwoofer_drivers/adire_extremis/

something like this is just what i'm looking for, and these cost about as much as i want to spend at $100 each.
