Can someone explain to me the importance of your bass amp being 2 ohm stable?

the import ance is in whther or not your sub and amp combination match in impedance. if you have a 2ohm sub setup, for example a Single Voice Coil 2 ohm sub, or a DVC 4 ohm in parallel, you need an amplifier capable of producing signal for a speaker with a 2 ohm load, because if you use a 4 ohm amplifier for a 2 ohm speaker, the speaker load is too low, and it draws more power from the amplifier, and that would result in blowing of the amp. you really just need to match the sub and amp. traditionally, the lower ohm load will provide for better sound because it can produce more power. for SPL competitions people might use a 1 ohm or 1.5 ohm setup to reach higher output levels, but for the average listener, the 2 ohm or even 4 ohm is sufficient.
