What do you guys think about the Sony Xplod XM-SD61X. Will it be a good fit for 1 Alpine SWR-1042d Sub. I wanted to make sure it will work before I buy it.

In general, any amplifier can be used with any speaker if it is set up properly.  That said, I am not a fan of Sony amps as they tend to fail for no good reason (that's why they are called Explode.)  Don't push it too hard and hope for the best.

i would look into a differant amp you will run into problems trying to run a sony amp bridged at 2 ohms  cheak out www.ikesound.com  you may find a amp that will better suit your needs
