Hey Guys,
Hopefully someone can help with this problem so I wont spend any more time in the manuals. Here it is, I just put in the AVIC D1 in my truck along with the xm tuner with nav trafic. Every thing is working good, except while I have the Nav screen on I keep getting this window popping up that says:
"XM updating"
I can click "OK" or just wait for it to finnish and go away. This is very annoying for it comes up very often. Any body know how to disable this , I cant find a way in the Nav menu's, and I dont have a sub. to xm nav traffic.
Any help will be greatly appreciated ,
Thanks,
cutbow

This happened to me on a customer's ride. We in Oklahoma have no NavTraffic so it is constantly searching for signal and trying to update. We unplugged the NavTraffic and all was dandy.
boosh!!

The reason you get the updating message when the data cable is plugged in is because the unit does not have the Navtraffic portion activated. The solution is as Silverfox described, which is to unhook the data cable until you avtivate the Navtraffic portion of the reciever.

Thanks, for the replies, I will look into unplugging the Navtraffic cable.
