I'm looking for a 1997 Eagle Talon Stock CD stereo.  I've looked on Ebay and various sites. Does anyone have or know where i can find a stock cd player for the talon?

Thanks

Generally replacement stock decks are godawefully expensive unless you get lucky and fish one out of a junkyard rather cheap. Is there any reason for not just going to an aftermarket? It would be cheaper and sound much better.

Thanks for the reply.  I agree that an after market would sound better and possibly cheaper.  I'm hoping to find a used stock stereo though. the reason being that the car has enough attention to it with the mods done to it, with an after market stereo, would just bring that much more unwanted attention.  I just bought this 97 talon.  my last vehicle, got broken into and my after market stereo was stolen.  I just figure it would be less headaches with a stock stereo.  The Talon does have a good alarm, but doesn't seem to stop theives these days.

Maybe get a detachable face, which seems to come on damn near every unit nowadays anyway, and be vigilant on actually taking it out when you leave the vehicle (unlike me)? That or a rather cheap deck you wouldn't be too hurt about loosing, most thieves probably wouldn't bother with a bargain deck since they can't sell it for much. I take it you live in a city without a personal garage for parking?

I had a detachable face plate on my last deck, but of course, i left it in my car one day, it was in my door compartment.  They broke in and stole it with the stereo and my amp.  Most of the time if you have an after market deck, you will have an amp,  even though i get a cheapo deck that will notify them of my amp.  I just hate the headache of losing my car until it gets fixed.  Plus it's a $200 deductible every time.  Gets costly after awhile.

You are right though, i live in a city with no garage and only a parking pad in the back lane to park.  lovely!!

I wonder if there are any other stock stereo's that would fit into this 97 talon? Maybe the eclipse or something?

97 shouldn't be integrated with lots of stuff yet, so most likely you can find another stock unit that would fit in there yes. What exactly would work I have no idea unfortunately. I'd say measure the space that you have and just go by that, looking at other vehicles that are similar in build to yours. I have owned all trucks so I am a bad judge of what would be similar to a Talon. You should be able to get something to fit into the space you have though.
Good luck with it, and if all else fails, move! 97 Eagle Talon stock stereo -- posted image.

You could probably scrounge something from the junkyard or off ebay.  All you need is a double-DIN (IIRC) Mitsu radio with the same plug on the back.  I don't believe you have a factory amp.
My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.
