This is my first post here, so go easy on me.  Anyways I'm in the process of rebuilding my system (old one was stolen) for my '98 2door blazer.  Here is what I have aquired so far for my subs

0 gauge wireing

MA Audio HK1998 (600 W RMS @ 2 ohms, 1200W RMS @ 1 ohm)
2 Infinity 12" Reference 1242 (DVC, 300W RMS, 1000W Peak)

-I know MA Audio kinda sucks and I hear they overrate thier power, is this true?.  Will this amp be sufficient for these subs wired at 1 ohm?  The Infinity's have a 93 dB sensitivity so I'm hoping they'll still be ok even if they are slightly underpowered.

-What should I tune my port to? I was thinking 30hz (amp has subsonic filter which I'll set to right under the port tuning).  I was thinking the infinity's (correct?) should have decent SQ so I probably don't want to go higher on the port tuning, I have a slight preference for SQ over SPL.

-I have 1 Subwoofer RCA out, and 1 Full range RCA out.  How do I hook up 3 amps to this head unit?  Can I just use a Y adapter on the full range RCA?  Can I get a crossover that will take 2 RCA inputs -> 3 RCA outputs?
-How crappy REALLY are the low end crossovers like legacy pyramid etc?  Is Lanzar, Profile level stuff exceptable for a crossover?, or are crossovers somthing you shouldn't go cheap on?

Thanks

...then run your subs at 4 ohm instead of at 1.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

Naww Infinity subs do extremely well in ported enclosures.
I've have great experience with them and a girl I know (who happens to be the *only* hot girl I've ever met working at a 711) has a pair (of Reference 12's, no less) in a slot port box that sounds tighter than plenty sealed boxes I've heard. The port tune @30hz is a good call.
The amplifier will produce *better* sound at 4-ohms... while I'm not sure that you'll *hear* the improvement over.. I dunno like 4x the power. Of course, in a ported enclosure you'll be fine running less than RMS... you'll prolly be happy at 4-ohms.

Well I hooked up the Amp to one of the Infinity subs (2 ohm setup) in a 1.5 Cubic foot box.  It didn't fit so I had to mount it upside down, so it probably has too much room. Anyways... it sounds like crap.  I dunno what the problem is.  I have to crank the Bass Boost, Gain, and HU bass boost all the way up to get any kind of sound out of it.  I'm at a loss here.  Any ideas what the problem is?

Is this amps wattage really that over rated? Seems like its pushing about 50 watts RMS
