I own a 2006 dodge charger I have sony head unit ,4 JL 6x9s ,2 JL W1 subs ,one 1000 watt 4-way avionex amp , 1 800 watt 2-way avionex amp and 1.5 far cap. The cap is hooked up to both amps, should it be hooked up only to the sub amp.also the lights dim bad what can I do

If they dim bad the only thing you can do is replace your alternator to an aftermarket one. A capacitor is only designed to store energy for when it only dims durring only parts of the song.

Read the grounding sticky dude. Do a search for the "big 3" as well. Combined it should eliminate quite a bit of your dimming issues.
