My sirius radio sounds quite muffled and lacks mids and highs.  Seems to be really heavy in the low end, which over-powers the rest.  This is true for when I am using the integrated FM modulator or using the FM out to an FM antenna adapter (hardwire).  The only sound controls on the Sirius unit is volume - which is maxed by default.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Can you try another transmitter frequency? Check the antenna position. it needs an unobstructed view of the sky and may require a small piece of metal under it to act as a ground plain.

I moved the frequency to 107.9 to see if that would help.  still the same problem.  The antenna is magnetized to the roof per the units instructions - should be entirely unobstructed.

Try turning down the output signal on sirius unit, this may be part of the problem.

Are you 100% positive your antenna wire is not pinched? And the same goes for the RCA's going in the RF transmitter, check those out as well.

Perhaps you have bad engine noise, in that case I would suggest a radio filter to go in line of the rf transmitter.

that's pretty much the way the FM transmitter sounds on most sirius units. It is worse on some vehicles than others. You can crank up the treble and turn down the bass to compensate, or go with a direct aux input to remedy the problem.
Life moves pretty fast; if you don't stop and look around once in a while; you could miss it.

Same thing here. Sounds muffled in my work car but fine in my personal car.

i was thinking maybe her radio is just low end, but radio sounds 10x better than the sirius radio.
