I am trying to design a sub box for my 97 Chevy Ext Cab. I have come up witht he box proportions but I need to know if I should leave it sealed or port it.  Also I need to know where to put a slot port/ports if I port it and how big they should be.  It is for 4 Alpine SWE-1241 4 ohm woofers driven by an MTX 81001.  Up to nearly 2000 watts available for power so that should not be a problem.  Here is a link to a rough picture of the box.  the design shows only half the box but the other half is the same.  The subs are mounted in the 12 5/8" face of the box.

Here are the specs on the woofers

i have a '98 k1500. and i also have the mtx81000d pushing 4 kicker compvr's the shhh pounds like no other. I have a sealed square box that goes across the back seat with the subs firing up. You might blow the type e's though. I had 4 in my neon with the same before i traded it in and i must have blew total of 12 subs... Thank god for the circuit city protection plan.
Back on the topic i think sealed is the way to go. Hope i could help.
