so i just got done installing a new set of mtx components in a vehicle and after all that work they sound WORSE than the factory ford speakers i started with. WTF. yes I also installed a 4 channel amp so there is plenty of power going to the mtx components, they just sound like crap. So lets start a poll and see what everyone thinks of mtx components.

A poll is not going to tell everyone how they will hear. Out of interest, how did you decide on what speakers to buy.

Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

i didnt decide, I subcontract as an installer for a few shops and they provided them to install on their customers car. i wound up taking them out and putting the stock ones back in and it sounded MUCH better. So a poll will get an opinion of what people think of mtx components. my opinion is they suck.mtx 6000 series components -- posted image.

Sounds like user error...besides, "they suck" doesn't really describe how they actually sound bad.

That statement kinda discloses your skill level my friend. There are many different factors when installing components that can dictate good or bad preformance. Mabye follow the simple rule of think then respond, just for future reference

I agree with alpine_king, have u tired different tweeter postions, are the speakers in factory mount position or in kicks.  Is the mid bass lacking depth, or the highs to powerfull?? are they properly powered.  All of these things count, and depends on how you percieve good sound quality
