First things first-I love this forum!!!! OK, I just bought a 1996 T-bird for $600 and want to install an awesome SQ system that I can compete with. Problem is, I don't know where to compete or what the rules are. I know its a poor starting point but I have to start somewhere. Here is what I want:

1 pair Infinity Kappa 6x8 components - front

2 pair Infinity Kappa 6x8 Coaxials

2 RE XXX 12"  - box yet to be decided

2 Alpine V12 900W RMS amps for subs-already own

Eclipse 100x4 amp(old school Eclipse) for high/mids - already own

Kenwood Excelon KDC-X979 Head - already own

Behringer pro audio 3x8 audio DSP matrix (for all EQ, Xover, and Delay settings) = already own

2 1 farad caps - already own

200amp Alternator

Dynamat or equal everywhere

If you would change anything or everything, what would it be? I want to finish the system within 6 mos. and will dedicate it to the12volt. I will also provide pics of the build.

My wife will never understand why, lucky for her!

IASCA is were I compete. The new rule changes are listed on their web site. But buying the rule book is the best way to make sure you get all the points possible. You will need to make a log book that has pics of each step of you install, just to show the judges everything is up to par.

I'm guessing that you will be in the Rookie class, so your install really only has to be safe. You will not get points for looks.

As far as sound goes, just make sure you have a person or people who know what to listen for (make sure they point out what good and bad). Install is pretty easy, but to get top notch sound scores your car needs to be built and tuned properly. And when you do enter shows, take notes on what the judges say, that way to can try and fix any problem you may have.

Good luck,
