hello, i was talking with a customer that wanted a cd player installed in there 99 chev blazer, i gave them a quote and they were surprised that i was like $100 less for the install then the other guy, when she explained that the other shop said they had to bypass the security system inorder to install the cd player i was really confused, unless they know something i don't, anyone feel like helping me out?  i know there's a code in the cd player that you need to reuse it after you unplug it and i have the code retevial tool. but i've never heard of bypassing the security system. only other thing i can think of is a module to keep the door chimes like in the new caviliers....but one never knows?

Ya the other shop is out to lunch. It takes all of about 20 minutes to do a proper deck install in that vehicle. Its about as easy as it gets.

Take the opportunity to convince them that you are on top of your game! They will be much more likely to come back if you take good care of them now, in light of their recent interaction with the competition!

10-4 I can confirm this first hand (even though i actually CHOOSE the OEM deck), you only need the passlock bypass for security related systems. stereo doesnt need it.

the only common car i know of that the radio is in with the security is 96-98 civic. the keyless entry doesnt work without the OEM radio powered up in the car.
