IMO if you want a thumping system you should go with a MTX 7500 12" sub  , the MTX Thunder 5601 amplifier . The subs in a vented enclosure is 2 ft3. If you want to go with 2 of those subs go with the MTX Thunder 7801and you will be very impressed I'm sure. The second scenario I will be running in a few of my customer's SPL vehicle where space is restricted.

those look kool
but the main reason i asked wit hthe aline is cause i can controll it from my head unit without having to go under the rear seats in the truck.
are they noot good or hit the way i want them to.i guess i would sacarafice adjusting feature for a kick ass system
lol

I have an Alpine dealer in the next town to me and most of the customer's don't really care about the convenience of the control as long as the equipment performs past what their buddies have. I have turned more customer's over with the MTX equipement since Alpine did those digital amplifier's with the controls than when it was just the normal amps. For some reason Alpine amps have a tendency to go into protection mode and you have to reset it more often than not. This is what I've heard from Alpine customer's that come to me with the problem. Another problem is their HU's kicking out on them after a year or less. ERR on the sreens or the face doesn't work anymore. Don't get me wrong I've been an Alpine fan for over 10 years, but their quality & workmanship is not as good as it use to be.

i been looking into the mtx line what if i got with the 1-12" 8500 or the 9500 jackhammer subs
and the 5601 will that be enough for those subs
or even if i go with the bigger amp that should hit pretty hard no??
it lookslike the equivalent to the jl W7's\
what you think about that and the previous post?
thanks

I have all the Super series in stock and I opened up a few and I haven't seen anything stating that these are "b" stock items. The only thing that I've heard about supplier's giving B-stock stuff to was A&B Sound, but they purchase this on purpose so they can offer them as loss leaders.

IMO I would go with 2 - 12's as this will produce the best bass for overall music genre's. They still hit hard but can still drop to a lower frequency when needed. I would say go with the 7500's because they are still priced good and you will need less power to make them thump opposed to the power hungry 9500 sub. Nothing wrong with the 8500 or 9500 subs, just they require ALOT of power in order for them to get the same SPL as the 7500's.
