which would bump louder in a ported box....A mtx 4500 15 in or a 15 in phoenix gold octane R...Im going to build both boxes to specs. So i was just wondering which one i should go with. The octane r is rated at 800 watts while the mtx is rated at only 500.

"to spec"  means.... vented, sealed, 4th order bandpass, 6th order bandpass... transmission line, etc.  Please let everyone know
fiberglass reminds me of peanut brittle... but fiberglass tastes better!

In a ported box, vented whatever you wanna call it...By spec i was saying like the specifications mtx and phoenix gold calls for. Like internal volume, port size, so on

the mtx 15" thunder 4500 is 250watt rms, you have to look at the watt rms rating not the max power.

what kind of amp you plan on feedin em with?

well it depends on which one a stick with ... if i stay with the mtx i will keep this rockford i got. but if i go to the pg. i might get a different amp since the rockford would be too small

I just wanted to call myself out on my response originally asking what kind of box you wanted.  upon further inspection I realize you said "ported" in the original post.... yeap, i'm a ass
