I'm savin up for the Eclipse CD5000 and I was just curious if anyone on here owns or has owned one of them? I think all of the stats on it are great - IF you own or have owned one of these tell me what you think about it? thanx

I am in LOVE with the 8445 I just bought. Essentially the same deck (the 5000 has iPod input) the sound quality is astounding! You'll be happy with the 5000, I think.
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

The 5000 is nice.  I think they made the buttons on the new eclipse units a little taller.  Am I just crazy or did any one else notice.

The 8445 will also take a Ipod input from the IPC106 adaptor. Your eyes are correct dude, the CD5000 control knobs are way better designed than the previous generation.  They do indeed stick out about 3/8" and this makes it way easier to use. I think our friendly "hamfist" might need to do another upgrade. FS, Eclipse CD8445, used not abused.
Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

With a couple of Eclipse's head units there is this GPS accessory you can buy for them which turns your H.U. into a nice GPS system. Have any of you owned or seen this accessory? Its called the Eclipse GPS105 GPS unit - It goes with i think the CD5000 CD7000 and AVX5000 and i think thats it have any of you guys seen this ????

thanx

the GPS105 unit is not a true gps in that you cannot pick destinations and whatnot while driving it is whats called areashot it will give you street names and thngs for a given area and you can pick destinations on your pc and then load them onto the HU. If anyone else can clarify my rambling please do but at 1:30 am it makes sense to me.
