Hi. I had just installed my aftermarker head unit DEHP4800MP Pioneer to my 2006 CRV SE and this has the has the Ch/Vol/Mode buttons on the steering wheel. Of course this was working when it was the stock head unit and after the new head unit installation, obviously, it does not work anymore. I had used the wiring harness Metra 80-1721. Is there a way to configure the Pioneer head unit and use a different wiring harness so that I can utilize the steering controls? Thanks.

Scosche makes an adaptor that allows you to retain steering wheel controls with an aftermarket deck, but no, an aftermarket deck won't utilize the steering wheel controls just by hooking the new radio up.

Hi. the way I understood for my Pioneer DEHP4800MP to use my steering control units is to use a scosche swc1, the head unit that I have has an infrared remote control which came with it. The steering wheel controls, is it hard wired ? Does the scosche swc1 wire harness needs to be wired together with the steering controls so that i can use the infrared feature of the Pioneer head unit?

When I wire it with my factory wiring, do I need to splice or I just need to connect a harness? Thanks.

You'll tap into a control wire for the steering wheel, along with accessory and ground.  It'll be explained in your instructions, along with how to verify your wire.
My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.
