First of all, thieves are stupid.  Ok here goes.  Upon leaving for work, I found that stupidity has struck my car again.  Needless to say, ALL my equipment is gone.

I decided that I should stick to stock untill I move. Have a 98 ford escort.  I proceded to put my stock stereo in and ran into a few problems.

I have the "premium sound" edition ford radio with cd changer controls.  I reconnected the stock amp.  Now here is my problem:

The rear speakers work fine.  The front speakers don't, at all.  I tried hooking up a spare stock stereo, same problem. The back of the head unit has one slot for a wide connector, which I connected.  The other either runs to cd changer hook-up or the amp.  There is yet another connector behind the unit that does not fit anywhere on the unit (one is black (fit)and one is grey doesn't fit)).   Is there an adapter that i am missing?  My aftermarket stero had been in so long, I may have lost something.

These two connectors are the same connectors that I am acustomed to in all my and my family's fords. (black and grey)

Feeling stupid, I checked my dads car (99 escort).  I pulled his stero out and both connectors were plugged into the unit.  His stero is NOT "premium sound".  thus I found this new information useless.

Any and all information greatly appreciated.  I can't stand sound only coming from the rear.

I know that I am sopposed to read though the forums before I post, well I did.  for HOURS.  It is possible I missed it.  I found some information to be usefull, but my question still unanswered.

so I guess I should ask, are the front speakers also powered by the amp?  And if so, why would they not work?
