Amp is a Pyle PLA2170 600 watt powering to 12" Pioneer IMPP Subs. HU is factory Chevy CD. When I crank the truck the amp goes into protect mode, but works fine with the truck off and keyed to accessory. Have rechecked and tightened all wiring. Front and rear speakers powered by HU work fine. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

sounds to me like the amp is seeing an increase in voltage from either the 12v constant wire or from the remote turn on wire and this is what is causing it to go into protection mode - unfortunately it is probably a bad amp, and has nothing to do with your install

Just to be thourough- the increase in voltage occurs when you crank the truck and the alternator runs and there is an overall increase in voltage throughout the entire electrical system - if you have a DMM check to see if that voltage on either wire increases with the vehicle on

Thanks for the reply. We borrowed an amp and everything works fine. Going to buy a new one tomorrow.
