I have a 2004 Nissan Frontier that I've put Infinity component speakers in and it sounds ok but I was thinking it would sound better if I relocate the factory tweeter mounts from the windshield pillars to the doors so the tweeters could be closer to the door speakers. Does anyone have experience with this vehicle or can someone give me advice?

Some component speaker tweeter sets can be adjusted via crossover if they are too far away or too close. If that is the case, I would install them in original location and listen how they sound first.

The adjustments via crossover are made for a broad array of mounting locations and every car does vary, distance between mid and tweet, which can change the sound dramatically. That's why I believe mounting them next to the mid and having tweeter "level" on the crossover at 0 makes for the best sound.
