so i'm new, so don't completely destroy me, but i need some help.

i'm wanting to wire two subwoofers, about 1000 watts each, in parallel on a 2 channel bridged amplifier that has an rms of 2000 watts. i was wondering if each woofer will recieve 1000 watts or 2000 watts?

also,i'm wanting to put components in my doors and wire it to an amp in the trunk. will i have to run new speaker, power, and ground wire to all the speakers? if i use the crossover included, will i only have to run one power and one ground and it will distribute this into the two speakers? will i have to run speaker wire to the mids and tweeters or just to the crossovers?

and lastly, can i use a distribution block to run power and ground to all the door speakers?

Each subwoofer will have a rated impedance stated in ohms for each voice coil it has. Some speakers have only one voice coil and some have dual. Your amp is only designed to be wired to the speakers in a way that makes it stable. You need check your subs rating ( 4 ohm, 2 ohm, 8 ohm, single or dual voice coil) and then check your amps install manual. It will show you how to wire the amp based on the load that your subs present to it. I seriously doubt that the ratings on your amp are correct. Some manufacturers grossly over rate their stuff. If you don't have a manual for the amp, post your subs impedance in ohms (usually stamped on label of sub on magnet) and your amp make and model to help members help you.

For your component set, you need to run speaker wire from each channel of the amp (left and right) to each crossover unit. One set of speaker wires to the left crossover and one to right. From each crossover, connect speaker wire from the mid output to the midrange on that side. From the crossovers tweeter output run speaker wire to that tweeter. You have to do this the same for both sides. Speakers don't use power or ground. They connect to speaker wire either from a radio or amp or with a crossover in between. Each amp requires power, ground and a remote trigger turn on. Before attempting this install, ask yourself if you really have the capabilities to take on a complete ssytem install. I advise you to spend a lot of time resarching on how systems are hooked up to get the most out of your system and not cause unneccessary damage to it our your vehicle. My advice would be to get professional help. Taking on a dual amp install with components is not an entry level task...I've seen a lot of people lose a lot of expensive equipment by trying to save money installing it themselves...

Not trying to hurt feelings but from reading your post I would have to agree with cloak559, take it to a pro. I have a young thundercat that has gone through 2 amps and 1 head unit trying to install his equipment and we aren't talking audiobahn either, $$$ down the drain.

I second the professional help...Doing all of this whenever you have no idea what to do is going to be a bad outcome...atleast get some help from someone who knows how to install and wire everything up

Also I highly doubt your 2 channel can push 2000 watts bridged...just for some info what are the make and models of all of your equipment??

I have a 2002 civic, the components in the front are going to be Lanzar OPTI6C.the 2-ways in the rear are going to be Lanzar OPTI692 . the components and 2 way's will be powered by a Lanzar MXA422 . The subs are 2 Lanzar MAXP124D powered by Lanzar MXA252 and bridged. all of this will be run by a Jensen VM9311TS and wired with a Lanzar OPTIKITCAP0 with a 2nd capacitor. can you help me?

Well what is that amp fused at??

Well my opinion of Lanzar is that they are crap...maybe to others they are good...those subs cannot handle as much power as they say they can. I will never buy anything Lanzar...sorry...but the good thing is that you haven't bought any of this stuff yet

How much money do you have to spend??? Maybe we can suggest some different stuff

well i'm working around no more than $1000 not including the head unit(got it already), i need subs, no more than 2, a sub amp, compenents in front, 2 or 3 ways in back, and an amp to power those. i want plenty of power though. what do you think?

People believe what they read. Some companies in the car audio business like to make outlandish claims on their equipment. (1000watt subs and 2000 watt amplifiers for example). Once you realize that there are companies out there that do business with totally misleading claims, the road to you learning about car audio and what it really is can start. I don't want to see you waste your money on chrome plated turds for example. The first question I would ask you is do you believe these manufacturers claims about their equipment? Next, what makes you think you need 2000watts of amplifer and two 1000 watt subwoofers when 400 watts of power mights accomplish your goals. Hold off on buying the system, read the sticky threads first, then post some more questions. Look for things like what is peak power vs. rms power. What is impedence and how does it correspond to an amplifier? Lots of things to learn that is going to keep you on the right path instead of the wrong one. This forum has a crapload of people willing to help you along, take that help as needed.
